Appropriate for children from birth-24 months. Program lasts approximately 20 minutes, and includes songs, fingerplays, and a story. This program aims to provide early experiences for children with the spoken word, a chance for parents/caregivers to share activities with children, and to create enjoyment for all during story time. The Children’s Room occasionally holds a Bedtime Math series of events for school-age children. Bedtime Math is a program whose aim is to “help kids love numbers so they can handle the math in real life.” Measuring, jumping, building, racing, creating… you never know what you’ll be doing in one of these fun programs! The Maine Student Book Award (MSBA) is a statewide program designed for students in grades 4-8. To get in on the action, sign-up in the Children’s Room.

Super DeweySummer Reading Programs

The Children’s Room has fun and engaging Summer Reading Programs for a variety of ages! With a wide range of events– book reading, arts and crafts, guest performers, a hidden rubber chicken, and much more– running June through August, kids will be excited to join in.
