Senior Housing Deliveries
The Windham Public Library delivers materials to local senior housing centers each month. We currently deliver to New Marblehead Manor, Unity Gardens, and Ledgewood Manor in Windham. Generally deliveries are made on the 1st Tuesday of each month, but contact the library for possible changes. The librarian selects an assortment of novels (both in regular print and large print) and movies for the enjoyment of the residents. She is pleased to try and select specific titles or genres upon request. If you (or family members) are interested in requesting that items be sent for a specific resident at one of the centers that we deliver to, please contact Sally Bannen at 892-1908 or via email.
Material Selection for Home-Bound Residents
The librarians are also happy to assist folks who are unable to get to the library on their own (due to illness, mobility problems, transportation issues, or other issues) by putting together a handful of selected items for a family member or friend to pick up. Novels or biographies? Mysteries or romances? DVDs or audio CDs? Large Print or lightweight paperbacks? Our librarians will ask a few questions to determine what sort of items are wanted, and will gather them at the front desk to save you time. An hour or two of time prior to pick-up is requested (due to staffing shortages). All that is needed for this service is a valid Windham Public Library card, either owned by or sent in with the person retrieving the items.
If you (or family members) are interested in requesting that specific items be put aside for someone, to be picked up at the library, please contact Sally Bannen at 892-1908 or via email.
